Don’t miss this week iFilm gem ‘The Color of God’

iFilm’s pick for the weekend ‘The Color of God’ is described as “stunningly beautiful”.

iFilm’s pick for this weekend ‘The Color of God’ has been described as “stunningly beautiful” and “a gem" by US leading film critic Stephen Holden of the New York Times.

Holden also wrote in his review, “As much as any film can, this explicitly religious movie offers a visionary experience of the natural world,” adding ‘The Color of God’ “makes sure that we hear as well as see the…Iranian landscape.”

Winner of the Best Picture at the 1999 Montreal Film Festival among other numerous awards internationally, is a story about a visually impaired boy and his relationship with his widowed father.

The scenery featured in Iranian legendary filmmaker Majid Majidi is outstanding and “you will be doing yourself a favor by putting this at the top of your list,” a review published on Amazon read.

From another angle, the flick is a narrative of how empty is life when it is not filled with gratitude to God.

Without a doubt, ‘The Color of God’ is one of the outstanding and ever-lasting productions of Iranian cinema as it exactly translates the main objectives of such industry in Iran i.e. showing spirituality, hope and family.

Do stay tuned for this weekend’s movie slot on iFilm to explore how human concepts are laid out before your eyes in the Iranian style.
